Dear Sweet Lady,
Thank you. I hope you find the website useful.
The tremolo system has been very carefully designed by Brian May and his father Harold.
The tremolo uses one knife edge which will reduce friction. The whole knife edge is used unlike other tremolos which use two knife edges.
The springs are chosen carefully for the perfect tension. I think also that the whole tremolo system is very secure and fixed solidly to the guitar body.
This means that only the tremolo block can move and all other parts are fixed solid.
The roller bridge is also carefully designed and each roller will move with the string to reduce friction.
The zero fret is also important for the tremolo because the strings have a very small angle over the zero fret to the tuners.
It is only 4 degrees so the strings do not create much friction at the zero fret.
Brian now uses Schaller back locking tuners. These will secure the strings too.
Because all parts of the tremolo are secure, including the tuners, the tremolo system should work perfectly when the tremolo is adjusted perfectly.
Regards,
Mark.

It is thought that it is very difficult.
Do you know?
Dear Friends,
I have recently made a simple website to explain how to set up a Red Special type guitar.
I hope that you will find this useful: http://www.rsmaintenance.webs.com/
I am very sorry that it is only in English.
Warmest regards,
Mark.
